That time of the year is fast approaching us. That time when you’re under pressure to buy the right romantic gift for your loved one. That gift that is always so hard to get right and which you’re never sure if you’ve got right. So this year, after you’ve bought that gift, why not buy some organic vegan Valentine’s Chocolate to make up for it?

I like chocolate and I buy organic chocolate. The worst thing about the stuff in candy bars that passes as chocolate it is of pour quality, derived from beans sprayed with pesticides we can’t even use in Canada and, it’s combined with caffeine.

Organic chocolate is essentially created using cocoa beans which have not suffered heavy pesticide spraying, though many products on the market can also lay claim to being fair trade certified. This means that the cocoa and sugar farmers involved in the process are guaranteed to receive a fair price for their produce, helping improve their quality of life.

When we buy and eat organic chocolate we have good reason to smile because those subsistence farmers who are growing their organic beans in the shady areas are preserving the rainforest canopy that we all benefit from.
