SOTD #1: A new feature
OK, I’m taking a leaf out of BenSpark’s book, in an effort to get some sort of content up here every day. Rather than a picture a day, which is what BenSpark has done, I thought that as I’m heavily into music and have it playing all the time I sit in front of the computer I’d put up a Song of the Day.
What I’ll do is put up a section of the lyric, possibly a few lines about why I like it (or perhaps not) and - if one exists - a link to the iTunes store so that you can go and buy the song if you want (I don’t earn anything from those links, BTW).
Today’s song is 4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy) by Bruce Springsteen
Sandy, the angels have lost our desire for us
I spoke to ‘em just last night and they said they won’t set themselves on fire for us anymore
Every summer when the weather gets hot they ride that road down from heaven on their Harleys they come and they go
And you can see ‘em dressed like stars in all the cheap little seashore bars parked making love with their babies out on the Kokomo
Well the cops finally busted Madame Marie for tellin’ fortunes better than they do
This boardwalk life for me is through
You know you ought to quit this scene too
Sandy the aurora’s rising behind us, the pier lights our carnival life forever
Oh love me tonight and I promise I’ll love you forever

I think you know what to do....

Thanks for the link. It is too bad you don’t earn any commission on the songs. I don’t think that there is anything wrong with earning a little bit of money for your efforts. Also I think the song of the day idea is a good one. Good luck with it.

@BenSpark:
Thanks for the comment; I’m hoping that - as well as bringing a range of great songs to people who perhaps haven’t heard them before - the SOTD will get me back in the habit of posting regularly and will get me writing about other stuff too.
Touching lyrics……I’m really lost for words here…..not like me!x
