Today’s song is Too Far Gone by Mick Jagger

This was once the country,
Now it’s all the town
What was once the tallest spire
Is just a building crumbled down

And I’m lving in a factory
That’s a million dollar flat
I’m not looking for arcadia
Cause it’s never coming back

I would spend my childhood days
Lost in starry dreams
And now watch my children
Just downloading empty screens

Let it down let it down let it down
Let it down let it down let it down

Cause it’s too far gone
Too far gone

The documentary Being Mick followed the recording of the Goddess in the Doorway album, from which this track comes. A really interesting documentary, and a great advert for the album which I’m sure was the reason behind it. This track resonates with me just because of the way it chronicles how life has changed over the years.
