SOTD #75 : 70s week (1)

Today’s song is When I Need You by Leo Sayer

When I need you
I just close my eyes and I’m with you
And all that I so want to give you
Is only a heartbeat away

When I need love
I hold out my hands and I touch love
I never knew there was so much love
Keeping me warm night and day

Miles and miles of empty space in between us
The telephone can’t take the place of your smile
But you know I wont be travelling forever
Its cold out, but hold out, and do I like I do

When I need you
I just close my eyes and I’m with you
And all that I so wanna give you babe
Is only a heartbeat away

Collin’s been writing about 80s music in his last couple of posts (haven’t heard Hey Matthew for a dog’s age), but my musical upbringing started in the 70s when tartan, glitter and – in the case of Leo Sayer – clown make-up were all the rage. So, I’m gonna have a bit of a theme this week – all of the songs that I choose between now and Saturday will be full of 70s nostalgia, so make sure you get your tartan scarves, glitter boots and ripped T-shirts ready.

  1. Collin says:

Well, if you’re gonna do the 70s then I might just have to keep up with you on the 80s. I have one set up for tomorrow but didn’t do one for today.

Hmm, might choose the weirdest songs I cn find. Our local radio station does a “back to the 80s” around 0720 every morning. That’s cheating though!
