Today’s song is Heaven by Bryan Adams
Oh – thinking about all our younger years
There was only you and me
We were young and wild and free
Now nothing can take you away from me
We’ve been down that road before
But that’s over now
You keep me coming back for more
Baby you’re all that I want
When you’re lying here in my arms
I’m finding it hard to believe
We’re in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn’t too hard to see
We’re in heaven
Oh – once in your life you find someone
Who will turn your world around
Bring you up when you’re feeling down
Ya – nothing could change what you mean to me
Oh there’s lots that I could say
But just hold me now
Cause our love will light the way
Baby you’re all that I want
When you’re lying here in my arms
I’m finding it hard to believe
We’re in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn’t too hard to see
We’re in heaven
I’ve been waiting for so long
For something to arrive
For love to come along
Now our dreams are coming true
Through the good times and the bad
Ya – I’ll be standing there by you
Anyone watching BBC TV last night would have seen John Barrowman turning this Bryan Adams classic into just another piece of elevator muzak; while the words were still as meaningful as ever, the vocal emotion and power had gone. So I thought I’d post the original so you can find out how it’s supposed to sound.

Today’s song is Baby When You’re Gone by Bryan Adams & Mel C
I’ve been wandering around the house all night
Wondering what the hell to do
Yeah, I’m trying to concentrate but all I can think of is you
Well the phone don’t ring ’cause my friends ain’t home
I’m tired of being all alone
Got the TV on ’cause the radio’s playing
Songs that remind me of you.
Baby when you’re gone, I realise I’m in love
Days go on and on, and the nights just seem so long
Even food don’t taste that good, drink ain’t doing what it should
Things just feel so wrong, baby when you’re gone
Just about scraping in to the correct day (I’ve only got about 40 minutes before tomorrow’s is due) here’s a rocking little tune from Canadian rocker Adams and ex-Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm.
