Ariana Grande Beats the Beatles Record

Ariana Grande is the first artist to hold the top three spots on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart simultaneously since “The Beatles” in 1964, as her new album “Thank U, Next” launched at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums tally, according to Billboard.com.

She has worked so hard coming from Victorious going to a pop start with three songs on the charts. I definitely think she worked hard enough to earn this. Going through a death of an ex, breaking off an engagement and the hate from the world,” senior Gabby Keevan said.

Grande’s “7 Rings” ruled the Hot 100 for a fourth week, while “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored” debuted at Number 2 and former seven-week leader “Thank U, Next” rebounded from Number 7 to Number 3. All three songs are from the Thank U, Next album, released on Republic Records.

“The songs on this album are truly spectacular. I did not think [Grande] would achieve another hit like ‘Thank u, Next,’ since it was such a good song, and in the middle of her career but she is doing an amazing job,” Keevan said.

Grande is just the second act in the Hot 100’s 60-year history to monopolize the top three in a week. The Beatles earned the honor for five weeks in March and April 1964, claiming the entire top five on the April 4, according to Billboardcharts.com.

“She is just showing females that we can be better than men, even a group that is considered immortal,” sophomore Reese Hilgren.

Grande is coming to St.Louis for her “Thank u, Next tour April 13.
