February 14 is the second largest card giving day of the year, just after Christmas. This year, it is expected that 1 billion cards will be exchanged around the world.

“My idea of the perfect date would be looking at the stars on the beach,” sophomore Emily Koncki said.

Other date ideas include baking cookies, taking a hike, being a tourist in your own town, going for a drive or making crafts.

“My idea of the perfect date would definitely be going to Chesterfield, going bowling and eating,” junior Kyle Czeschin said.

Although having a date on Valentine’s day can be fun, there are many ways to enjoy the holiday on one’s own which include having a movie marathon, trying a new recipe, painting, reading a new book or going shopping.

“My idea of the perfect date is dinner and a movie,” sophomore Nathan Davidson said.

Over one billion cards are sent and over 250 million roses are produced on Valentine’s Day each year.

“I think my idea of the perfect date would be going thrifting, getting some sushi and going to a drive in movie theater,”  freshman Norah Keeven said.
