In January, the Wentzville School District achieved a clean audit for its financial records from the 2020-2021 year. 

“An audit is when a company/district internally goes over financial information and makes sure that financial statements are being put in correctly,” accounting teacher Carrie Seiler said. “A clean audit is whenever all statements succeed in being recorded correctly.” 

Senior Accountant Derek Gokin reported a clean audit for the School Board on December 16, according to the WSD website.

“A clean audit results in lower costs to issue bonds, decreased interest rates on loans, and most importantly, it gains the trust and confidence of district taxpayers and other stakeholders,” Chief Financial Officer Richard Angevine said in an email. 

The Districts total operating revenue for the year 2021-2022 was $218.3 million, according to the WSD website.

“We are confident that the District will continue to achieve a clean audit every year,” Angevine said.
