NFL Draft Preview
April 30, 2019
The NFL Draft is April 25, and will be a two-day event.
The Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions have the top picks. Arizona has not had a first overall draft pick, and there is a lot of speculation going on about who they will select since they selected Josh Rosen last season, but some experts say that they may still draft a quarterback this year.
“The Arizona Cardinals should get another quarterback in the draft. Josh Rosen is not the long term fit for them,” junior Blake Haffer said.
The National Football League has ranked the top players entering the draft this year. Nick Bosa, an edge-rusher out of Ohio State, is rated as the top player in the draft. The top quarterback is Kyler Murray out of Oklahoma. He is ranked seventh overall. Many analysts tab him as the most athletic player in the draft. He was offered over $14 million to play baseball for the Oakland Athletics, who drafted him, but he has opted to play football.
“Murray is an excellent fit for the Cardinals. He is the quarterback they need for the future,” junior Connor Price said.
Mock drafts have the Arizona Cardinals selecting Kyler Murray with the first pick, Nick Bosa is seen going to the San Francisco 49ers, while Quinnen Williams, a defensive lineman, is projected to get selected by the New York Jets.
“The San Francisco 49ers are getting a steal if Bosa falls to them with the second overall pick,” junior Blake Ebner said
