The Timberland Varsity Girls softball team currently has nine wins, four losses, and one tie, with 11 games left this season.
“Hopefully, we keep a positive momentum, and can finish this season strong,” junior Paula Powell said.
Some notable scores this season: Timberland vs Hannibal 10-0, Timberland vs Washington, 12-2 and Timberland at Zumwalt West 15-0.
“Holt is the team we want to beat most. They’ve been great this year, and beating them would be a huge accomplishment,” junior Ryen Ehling said
Other district team overall records are as follows: Liberty High 3-10. Holt 12-1. Timberland will face Holt next on October 14, and the teams next game is against Fort Zumwalt South.
“Some goals this season are to help grow these young ladies into productive people when they leave THS. Personally I would love to see them win conference and districts this year,” coach Bradley Shellert said.
Some notable stats are as follows: Zoe Schulte BA .513, Bailey Brommer RBI 19, Jamilyn Bagby outs 82, Zoe Schulte OB% .578, Bailey Broemmer SLG .864 and 55 strikeouts.
“All of the varsity players have had great moments so far this season. Zoe Schulte has really defined her leadership goals this year and is an awesome young lady to be able to coach everyday. She is committed to the University of Iowa to study and play softball next year. Madison Sweeney moved over to play shortstop and has done a tremendous job stabilizing that spot for us. She is also an awesome leader and teammate for this program,” Shellert said.
