Mario Kart Tour was released on September 25 and took the #1 spot on top charts for the racing category.
The game includes 64 courses spread across 16 different cups, with various drivers and different vehicles to pilot. The game has been rated 4.8 out of 5 stars, with almost 800,000 ratings.
In this game, players can play in global mode with friends and race around courses that are inspired by real cities and also classic Mario Kart courses.
The release of Mario Kart mobile has had an impact on learning at Timberland High School.
“Since the download, I’ve noticed there have been more kids on their phone, and I’m sure that and as I’ve been behind them I’ve kinda noticed, yeah that’s what they’re doing. Just a little more redirection in class but I’m sure that it will probably just be a phase or a fad and something else will take over,” teacher Megan Sellers said.
“I think Mario Kart mobile is a really cool idea and I like how Nintendo is now making apps on the phone so you can play them anywhere,” student Camryn Scott said.
Many students at Timberland can be found playing this game during classes or during their free time. Student Carter Klaesner said he sees kids playing in class instead of focusing and that when they ask him if he wants to play with them, he says no.
“I find Mario Kart mobile to be good, but it could be better. I prefer mobile because it’s easy to play, and it’s just go-to,” student Nolan Tucker said.
