There are over 500 student drivers this year at THS.
Over the last few years, there have been approximately two accidents a month in the student parking lot according to school resource officer Cody Klietheres
To avoid being involved in one of those accidents, here are some tips and tricks to excel at safety and maintain the privilege of driving to school:
- #1 – Do not park in staff parking.
- #2 – Display the parking pass on the rearview mirror.
- #3 – Don’t lose your parking permit. It is $10 to replace.
- #4 – Properly park in marked parking spots.
- #5 – Lock your car, as . THS and the Wentzville School District are not liable for stolen items.
- #6 – Drive safely and pay attention to your surroundings.
Don’t have a parking pass? Parking permits are $30 in room 201 before and after school and during Den Time from administrative assistant Dustie Tayler. Tayler suggests students get to school early to avoid being tardy.
Failure to follow these tips can result in detentions, suspensions or parking privileges according to the WSD parking application.
