There are eight band programs : Marching Wolves Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, Percussion, Solo & Ensembles, Color Guard and Winter Guard. But today we are gonna focus on the marching wolves, According to the Wentzvillestville School website,
“Marching band… has my heart. It’s such a bonding experience, because it brings everyone together. It’s the only time that color guard, percussion, and the winds are all together in one big family, Junior Emily Pickins said.
Who are the Marching Wolves?
“Marching wolves are just a bunch of people who have a passion for playing an instrument of some sort and to be able to play and want to be a part of something bigger and to have a purpose to their instrument, then having it as a hobby are passion were they can actually implemented and get something out of it like the competitions it’s rewarding and gives you a sense of accomplishment” senior Chance Robinson said.
The Marching Wolves and Color Guard won four competitions this season: Timberland Percussion Competition (Green Division): 1st Place, Edwardsville Invitational (Class 3A): Grand champs, Fort Zumwalt North Invitational (Class 5): 6th in prelims, 4th in finals And Rockbridge Summit (Class 5, Columbia, MO)
“It feels amazing to win the competitions. W, we just spend so much effort waking up so early in the morning staying late in the afternoon and we just work so hard and that’s just a great reward to have,” junior Elizabeth Kollias said,
“It feels so awesome we put so much time and effort in blood sweat and tears into everything we do and so just reaping the rewards for the rewards we put in” Senior Cassidy Gooch,
