Snow days are days when work or school are canceled to avoid the risk of accidents or injuries while traveling.
“My favorite part of a snow day is not going to school and hanging out with friends,” freshman Dallas Christiansen said.
The Wentzville School district typically makes a decision by 5 a.m. to delay or cancel school due to winter weather, icy or closed roads.
“I can just sleep in,” junior Carter Compton said.
“The District may dismiss early when winter weather arrives quickly and unexpectedly during the school day,” according to the WSD website. The Wentzville School District has 6 built-in snow days. If the district exceeds this limit, they will have to extend the school year.
“My favorite part of a snow day? Staying in,” sophomore Chance Lewis said.
