As students gain excitement for spring break, plans are being made.
Students said they have plans ranging from horse-riding to robotics competitions and more.
“I’m actually going to Paris this spring break. So, that’s gonna be really exciting,” freshman Aidan Labaali said.
Spring break is not contracted time for teachers, so grading during break is optional according to assistant principal Liz Reckker.
“I’ll be training my cadaver dogs. We do search and rescue, and I’m also going to be putting turf in my backyard for my dogs,” art teacher Crystal Wing said.
It is common for maintenance and facilities to conduct repairs such as replacing lightbulbs and other repairs according to assistant principal Liz Reckker.
“I am actually taking off for spring break and going to Florida with my family to visit my brother,” Reckker said.
The school building will also be open and in-use with many sports games and practices during break.
“I have some volleyball tournaments, and then [I’m] just going to hang out with some friends and family,” sophomore Caitlin Thomas said.
Over 43% of students and staff said that they planned on staying in town, 28% said they planned on travelling, and 29% said they planned on a mix of both according to a survey of 160 members of the THS community.
“I’m planning on going to Alabama with my family,” junior Jana Mayer said.
One of the sports that will be active during spring break will be baseball.
“I’m hoping to spend some time with the family for sure. I always enjoy making breakfast for them so I’m sure I’ll do a little bit of that with them,” Coach ANdrew Zerr said.
Spring Break this year for the Wentzville School District will be 11 days, March 23 to April 2.
