Timberland’s boys soccer team regular season is coming to a close and the district tournament is rapidly approaching.
According to junior Gavin Baker, throughout the season the team had scheduled dinners together.
“Winning was my favorite part. It’s fun, and it feels good winning a game,” Baker said.
The soccer team hosts open fields during the off-season to give players the opportunity to get some extra work in according to head coach Nick Purcell.
“My advice to future players is too never give up. You never know how far you could have gone if you give up,” Baker said.
According to Purcell, the soccer team went through a lot of adversities this season, and they had to have a “next man up” mentality.
“My advice to future players are get outside and get some touches in and make sure your fitness levels are right where it needs to be. Soccer is a cardio sport, so if your cardio levels are falling behind, so will you,” Purcell said.
Districts, the first post-season tournament, start Nov. 16.
