Google released their new Google Pixel 2 phone on October 19, and with it a new type of headphones that translate languages into English.

The headphones, named Google Pixel Buds, will be able to translate almost any language, simply by pressing the side of the headphones, and asking it to do so. The headphones can also answer other questions, such as “what’s the weather?” The headphones do not plug into the Pixel phones, but instead use bluetooth to help users make calls, send texts and listen to music.

“The headphones are kind of cool. I don’t think they’d actually work however. They don’t seem real capable of translating that fast, and besides, when someone talks, the translation would interrupt what they’re saying,”  junior Mario Gonzalez said.

The headphones give users up to five hours of listening time with a single charge, and come in three colors, Just Black, Kinda Blue and Clearly White. The headphones are eight inches in length and have a touchpad in one ear, used to press to ask it a question. Similar to Apple’s Siri, users   can say, “Okay Google,” to the headphones, proceeded by the question desired, and it will answer the question for you.

“They are pretty cheap for what they are, I guess. They seem cool; they can help someone if they wanted to travel to a new country,” sophomore Zach Russell said.

The Google Pixel 2  is currently for sale for  $649 to $728. The Google Pixel Buds are not included in this price and come as an accessory for an extra $159.
