Just days before UCLA’s opening game against Georgia Tech in Shanghai, LiAngelo Ball, brother of Lakers Rookie Lonzo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill we’re caught shoplifting from the Louis Vuitton next to the hotel the teams were staying at.

“I don’t know why they would steal, they have plenty of money – especially Ball. He has his own brand name clothes,” sophomore Brennan Higgins said.

Although LiAngelo was with two other UCLA players, the shadowed Ball brother is in the spotlight.

The youngest Ball brother, LaMelo, has received backlash on Instagram after posting a picture of their newly released “Shanghai” edition hats with the caption: “China we are on our way!”

Comments such as “Don’t follow Gelos footsteps and shoplift” and  “BBB = Brothers Behind Bars” were left under the post along with a hashtag “#freegelo.”

The allegations of the arrest in China are still unclear but UCLA head coach Steve Alford has made it clear “those individuals won’t play onSsaturday.”The three popular basketball players can face three to ten years in prison if the shoplifting allegations are proven true, according to the  Associated Press.
