Women Will Win
Women have the capability to hold the same positions and have the same jobs as men
September 14, 2018
Women are often told that they can’t have a specific job or a promotion in their workplace due to them simply being women. Their gender is what makes people believe that they’re incapable of doing the same exact job as a man.
Often, the people saying this don’t care, if they’re physically or mentally capable, only that they are women, deeming them unfit for many things. People have told women they can’t be police officers because they won’t be taken seriously or that they’ll be targeted by a criminal more than the male officers. Women are told they can’t hold a high ranking office because their emotions will cloud their judgement and cause them to make decisions based on emotion and not fact. People will refuse treatment from women doctors, refuse to get on a plane with a female pilot and won’t even trust a woman with their car at a mechanic. Despite the fact that these women have been trained, spent years to earn a degree and to become licensed in their profession, people view them as inadequate in their field.
For centuries strong women like Zenobia, Cleopatra and Lakshmibai were capable of conquering entire civilizations, leading armies, and starting revolutions. Now, in one of the most accepting and empowering times in history, women are being put aside and belittled for being women.
Women have come a long way since they were seen as being only useful at home in the kitchen and taking care of the children, but they’re still yet to be seen as equals in a workplace. They can work harder and longer but people are more willing to hand a high rank to a man than a woman. In the US, a woman has never held presidential office but in many other countries they have led for years.
Women are more than capable to hold the same position, office, and work in the same field as men. Gender isn’t a qualification for any kind of job and a bias on if they’re fit for a job is an old and outdated view.
