The JV boys soccer team has 20 members, who focus on practice, winning and building team spirit. 

JV coach Bradley Jacobsen said he is very happy with the team, and their pursuit of a goal set to get the boys ready to eventually play at a higher level.

 “We plan to use strategies that the varsity level has been using,” Jacobsen said.

 The team has scored a total of 25 goals, as of October 16, and holds a record of 6-3-3.

“We have two amazing freshmen who have really stepped it up. We have a strong sophomore class. The juniors bring the experience to the JV level and we have a foreign exchange student from Spain, so he’s been amazing for us,” Jacobsen said. 

The JV team’s first game was a double header against Rock Bridge, where they shut out Rock Bridge with a 3-0 win. They followed that win with another shutout win against Battle with a 2-0 win. 

“I’m always busy with [soccer],” sophomore Zacc Dawkins said.

 Sophomore Cooper Blake, who plays right and left wing, agreed that soccer is time consuming, but well worth the effort. He said he enjoyed seeing the team grow closer and become better. 

“I feel like we are having a strong season. We have a strong mid field as well as a strong defense. We just have a strong team all together,” Blake said.
