Boys tennis is 10-1, and the team – along with coach Jennifer Livergood – has their eyes set on placing at state.

The boy’s tennis team has 17 players; three of the players are seniors according to the Timberland activities roster.

¨Where having a really good season so far. I’m seeing a lot of effort and skill on the court… and I think we have a very good chance of placing this year,¨ tennis coach, math teacher Jennifer Livergood, said.

They practice after school at the tennis courts.

¨I love playing tennis. I didn’t get to play tennis back in Germany, so being able to play tennis here was very special,¨ junior Joshua Kiel said.

Livergood said her other goal is to get more players next year; she wants to grow her team as much as possible to have a lot of variation.

“My inspiration when playing is definitely coach Teresa Durbala, she really helped me understand how to play tennis and is really nice,”  Kiel said.

At their Francis Howell Central tournament, Dane Ives and Caden blake took first place.

“My inspiration is definitely the coaches. They really help me with my game and are always helpful. If they see you struggling, they will come and see what they can do,” sophomore Luke Ferrell said.
