Seniors Say Farewell

All good things must come to an end and on May 27, seniors will be exiting Timberland for the last time.

Underclassmen will have 16 days left, but before the seniors exit high school, some give their final remarks:

“One of the most important things I’ve learned since freshman year is that not everything matters as much as you think it does. You know, the friends you have aren’t always going to be your friends, and that’s okay,” senior Phoenyx Allmeyer said.

Over 450 students will be graduating as Timberland’s class of 2022.

“I’m definitely going to miss all the things you do here, like going to the football games and things like that. I’ll miss my friends here,” senior Lucas Roettger said.

Senior sunset is a traditional celebration of seniors at the end of the year, which follows the tradition of senior sunrise at the beginning of the year. This year’s senior sunset will be May 20, starting at 6:30 p.m. According to StuCo sponsor Jim Andrzejewski, the sunset will be the last part of the event, between 7:30 and 8:30.

“I cannot wait to start a brand new life, because you have to at some point,” senior Lucas Lowry said.

After graduation at the St. Charles Family Arena at 6 p.m. on June 5,  there will be a graduation party at Kokomo Joe’s. The lock-in style event will have a hypnotist, arcade, go karts, laser tag maze, bumper cars, mini bowling, photo booth and more.
