This year, the boys basketball team has 12 players on the team.

To date, the team has played two games with a record of 1-1, a loss to Liberty and a win against Fort Zumwalt East.

“As a coach, my goal is for us to get better each day all year long. Obviously, we want to win every game. [We also] want to compete for a conference championship,” head boys basketball coach Kyle DeWeese said.

The team’s first tournament, the Winfield tournament, runs through December 3, according to the THS Activities page.

“I’m excited, because we have a lot of guys coming back. We certainly had some struggles last year, but we competed most nights… A lot of guys that we have have that experience. I think that will help us, and I’m looking forward to [the season],”  DeWeese said.

According to sophomore Jacob Aydelott, the team should be experienced because they are starting four seniors this year.

The first Boys basketball will play Holt at home for this year’s Pink Night game December 16 at 7 p.m. in the big gym.
