Each year, THS produces two main-stage theatre productions, a play and a musical. This spring, the musical will be “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”
“My favorite thing about preparing for the spring musical is the collaboration aspect… I love seeing my students’ ideas, and I love sharing my ideas,” theatre teacher Cori Maze said.
“Hunchback” has 22 cast and 37 crew.
“Being able to express myself is my absolute favorite part of theater,” sophomore Amanda Chrissos said.
Rehearsals for “Hunchback: are Monday through Friday from 2:30 to 4:30, about 10 hours per school week according to Maze.
“I really love getting to express art in a live format,” junior Summer Williams said.
The show runs April 25, 26 and 27 at 7 p.m. at the Carl E. Reininger Theater.
“Cast is working with me blocking, which is the movement of where they need to go during their lines. They are working with the choreographer learning dances. They are also working with our vocal director, Mrs Castelli…. There are a lot of moving pieces and they are very busy,” Maze said.
