Bienvenue! Timberland is gaining a new French teacher this year, Madelyn Meinhardt. She has decided to come teach to be a passionate advocate for the language.
“I decided to become a French teacher because I love the language and I had so much fun learning it; and I still get to learn it everyday,” Meinhardt said.
This is Meinhardt’s first year teaching. She graduated from Truman University and has come to the Wentzville district because she is familiar with the area and likes the language programs.
“I just thought that for me in high school in college it was a great time for me to express myself and learn about culture and I wanted to see other students learn that as well,” Meinhardt said.
Meinhardt teaches French 1, French 2, Advanced French 2, Pre-AP French 3 and AP French 4.
“I like her. She’s cool, she’s young, she’s relatable to us teenagers, and she’s a good teacher too, that’s the most important part,” French student Chanel Clemons said.
Meinhardt has an engaging teaching style, and enjoys conversing with her students daily.
“She loves to create activities that really help bring out your, like, idea and love of French,” sophomore Aidan Labaali said.
Meinhardt said she plans to continue teaching French for many years to come.
