Digital media is a beginning class that focuses on the fundamentals of video production and other media production. It is a place where students can learn the skills necessary to become content creators and learn Adobe Premiere Pro programs used in the digital media industry. It is taught by business teacher Kellie Trussel.
Digital media, on a daily basis, looks like anyone would expect a workplace to look. Students work on projects, and they have to solve a lot of problems along the way to get their video created and their final edits finished.
“We go through the three different steps of production so we have pre-production when we plan what we are going to film, production is when we actually film what we are going to see in our video, and then post-production which is our editing,” Trussell said.
Primarily in digital media students use Adobe Premiere to edit their videos.
“The hardest thing about this class is being creative and staying focused,” sophomore Aidan Richards said.
According to Trussell there are many classes students can take after digital media class, broadcast media, news, advanced design and creative design lab.
