Pixar vs. Disney

Audrey vs. Ryan: An Opinionated Battle

Audrey Whalen and Ryan Fredrick

A: Most people know that Pixar is owned by Disney. But most Disney animation movies are the Princess collection. Pixar focuses on the movies that “boys” would enjoy, since most males do not enjoy the Princess movies.

R: Pixar movies are gender neutral, while Disney only makes movies that most women will enjoy. If anything, Disney is the company that is focusing on 1 gender. There are equal male and female roles in Pixar movies.

A: Disney has a bigger corporation than Pixar. Disney has all the classics to budget their newer creations. Disney has also been around a lot longer than pixar so they know what people like and what people do not like.

R: Pixar might be owned by Disney, but Pixar and Disney will never be on the same level. Pixar is just overall a better corporation. If Disney has a bigger company, than they need to step up their game. Pixar still makes better movies with a smaller company.

A: Pixar being a smaller company does not have the advantages the bigger corporation does. Disney being bigger is giving way more creative ideas. Pixar could simply be reusing their ideas. Disney has a bigger corporation than Pixar. Disney has all the classics to budget their newer creations. Disney has also been around a lot longer than pixar so they know what people like and what people do not like.

R: Disney might be older, but that makes them stuck in the past, while Pixar is making classics every year, Disney is stuck remaking “Beauty and the Beast” (a movie from 1991). Pixar is looking forward, while Disney is stuck remaking their classics because they don’t have any new ideas.

A: Disney is remaking their classics to fit society today. Now they have lots more technology than they did in 1991. In 1991 movies were not as advanced as they were today, and recreating the animated movies into live action.

R: We don’t need remakes of already good movies. Who cares if it’s in live action, we already have a good version of it. You do not see Pixar making a live action version of “Finding Nemo”.
