Selena Gomez checked into a mental health facility on Wednesday, due to an unclosed medical condition.

Gomez, in the past, has had mental health issues. In 2015, she checked into a mental health facility for her depression and anxiety.

“I think it is so sad she is going through this again. I want nothing but the best for her. She is so talented, and Hollywood tends to cause famous people issues,” senior Drue Young said.

In 2016, Gomez underwent a kidney transplant and was very close to death according to CNN.com. She was recently hospitalized due to complications with her transplant and some beleive the transplant caused her recent struggles with depression.

“I definitely think going through a life altering surgery like that will cause some depression and anxiety,” junior Allison Starke said.

Justin Bieber, Gomez’s ex, was seen with wife, Hailey Baldwin, crying and very upset about his ex’s recent health issues and said, “I will always care about her,” according to People.com.

“I love that Justin still cares about Selena. It just shows that he still loves her, and their breakup was not ugly,” Young said.

In 2015 Gomez was diagnosed with Lupus, a chronic disease that can affect any part of the body — typically the skin, joints, blood and kidneys, according to the Lupus Foundation of America. The immune systems of lupus sufferers essentially go haywire, and instead of fighting off viruses and bacteria with antibodies, their bodies create auto-antibodies that attack healthy tissue.

“I think it shows true friendship that her best friend gave [Gomez] one of her kidneys. I hope, if I needed it, one of my friends would step up like that,” Starke said.
