Outer Worlds: An RPG

The Outer Worlds is an action role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Private Division. The game was released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows on October 25, 2019, with a Nintendo Switch version to be released in 2020.

“I just got the game and have been playing it non-stop. The action, immersion, art style, concept and story drive this game so far. This game is really a slap in the face to Bethesda’s recent disappointments,” junior Seth Chaplin said.

Bethesda Softworks and Obsidian Entertainment have a history together. Obsidian made the widely popular “Fallout: New Vegas” under Bethesda’s management and publication.

“After the recent things Bethesda has done, it is really good that we have a company to point out the glaring mistakes. Bethesda is such a good company and has made some of my favorite games, but recently it seems like they are just money-hungry,” junior Zachary Czarnik said.

Bethesda released “Fallout: 76” on November 14, 2018, to incredibly poor reviews. The game was simply incomplete, according to many fans. The company took a lot of heat after customers ordered a $200 bag from the game that turned out to be, according some reviews,  “a $5 nylon bag” when given to customers.

“Seeing Bethesda just sink into the abyss like that was sad, because they really have some good developers. But they were lying to their customers, cheating them out of money, and that is something that cannot be tolerated. ‘The Outer Worlds’ brings that ‘Fallout’ vibe to it, but is much better because it was actually given the time to be made,” senior Lydia Jenkins said.

Currently, “The Outer Worlds” has an 8.5/10 on IGN and has gained enormous amounts of fan-support. The game is for PS4, Xbox, and PC and is $60.
